Freelance journalist

Angela Weiß is a freelance multimedia journalist based in Austin, Texas. Her work has been featured in a number of publications, including Die Zeit, Spiegel Online, Süddeutsche Zeitung, NDR and Deutsche Welle.

Following the completion of her journalism studies at the Hochschule Bremen and the University of Manipal, she undertook a trainee position in documentary filmmaking at Gebrüder Beetz Filmproduktion in Hamburg. Angela has worked as a news reporter, social media manager and video producer at Radio Bremen for years. She is currently shifting her focus towards the fields of sustainability, the growing energy demand and conservation efforts.

In 2015, she participated in the Robert Bosch Foundation’s “Media Ambassador India-Germany” programme as a fellow. During her time in India, she covered stories on future technologies for manual scavengers, queer arranged marriages and Bangalore’s craft beer scene. Furthermore, Angela provided a report on one of India’s pioneering female surfers and collaborated with The Logical Indian, an online publication based in Bangalore, where her focus lay in sustainable living and waste reduction.
