Julia Anjuli Wadhawan

Writer and Journalist

Julia Wadhawan is an independent journalist, focusing on health, migration and India. Her work appears in major german news outlets such as SPIEGEL, ZEIT, Deutschlandfunk. In 2022 she published her first book: “Don’t tell me who I am” (dtv) is a personal and journalistic reportage on global structures of identity between India and Germany. Since 2023 she has been writing the regular series “Simply Yoga” for the political magazine SPIEGEL. With this series Julia aims at re-infusing Yoga with its cultural heritage, making space for Indian perspectives and learning from history and science.

She is a founding member of the Indo-German Media Network, an offspring of the Media Ambassador-Programm by the Robert Bosch Foundation.

Julia currently leads the documentary project WHO CARED, an online Archive for Care-Migration.
